SSC Meetup Page
Do
you ever feel like getting out on the ski slopes, waterways, golf
course or bike trails, but don't really have anyone to go with you when
you are available? Maybe it's your day off, but your friends cannot go.
That's why we started the SSC MEETUP page, so you can post activities
that other members might enjoy too.
To sign up, please click on the Meetup icon at the top of any SSC webpage, or type this URL into your browser: http://www.meetup.com/Susquehanna-Ski-Snowboard-Club. Current Volunteer Opportunities
Hershey Park: Hersheypark is open weekends as they transition into Hersheypark Halloween through November 3 and then Christmas Candylane through January 1. Volunteers will be needed to help with rides, food and beverage service, games, gates, utilities, retail and parking. Sometimes we are invited to volunteer as ushers and ticket takers at the outdoor stadium and Giant Center, special events, and the Bears hockey games. For each shift a volunteer works, you may earn 1 to 3 vouchers for admittance to Hersheypark and SSC gets paid $8 an hour for each hour you work. Half of the money SSC earns is donated to a charity of our choice, such as the Central PA Food Bank or Wounded Warriors. To participate, just contact Lovena Nickle at lovnic53@comcast.net or 717-541-8803 to sign up as a volunteer. You need to provide an email address to enable her to communicate with you about open shifts.
Weekend Rides & Hikes Weekends are a great time to get out and enjoy the great outdoors with some awesome folks. Weekly rides often include an easy ride, moderate ride and occasionally some fast road rides. Even if you haven’t cycled since you were clipping baseball cards to the bike, or are into a walk/hike with other like-minded people, come join the group. Contact Mike Gavin at emailriders1@comcast.net for a schedule of the weekly bike rides or hikes and to be added to Mike's weekly email updates. If need be, recommendations can be made to obtain a cost-efficient, entry level bike. |
