We fly into San Jose International Airport where our bus will transfer the group to the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel. The hotel features a full-service spa, two outdoor pools and a hot tub, on-site restaurants and a state-of-the-art fitness complex. The rest of day is free to relax at the hotel or explore Monterey, which is famous for its natural beauty, rich history, and popular attractions, such as the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Fisherman’s Wharf Monterey and historic Cannery Row, which was immortalized by John Steinbeck. This celebrated waterfront district—formerly the heart of the sardine canning industry, is now a lively mecca of shops, restaurants, wine bars and galleries. Carmel-by-the-Sea, a quaint village known for its arts community, boutiques, and fairytale cottages, is less than 4 miles away. Or rent a bike to explore a trail along the California coast, past stunning oceanfront scenery and rocky shores. Tuesday, October 6, 2026: Breakfast at hotel. This morning is free to continue to explore the Monterey area. In the afternoon we’ll travel along the famed 17-mile drive to Carmel. Along the way we’ll see the much-photographed Lone Cypress Tree, Seal Rock and the prestigious Pebble Beach Golf Course. Tonight’s dinner is included at a local restaurant. (B, D) Wednesday, October 7, 2026: Breakfast at hotel. We’ll leave Monterey and head to the DoubleTree by Hilton in Modesto, which will be our base for the next two nights. We’ll visit a family-owned olive oil producer for a tour, an olive oil tasting, and lunch. Afterwards, we’ll meet a local farmer and visit an almond orchard. Tonight’s dinner is included at a local restaurant. (B, L, D) Thursday, October 8, 2026: Breakfast at hotel. We drive to Yosemite where we’ll have an expert guide to view the unrivaled landscapes. Natural wonders abound as you stand before El Capitan, and take in breathtaking vistas including Half Dome, Tunnel View, and Yosemite Falls. (B) Friday, October 9, 2026: Breakfast at hotel. We leave Modesto and travel to Napa Valley, where we’ll tour the grounds of a vineyard and enjoy a private tasting and lunch. Afterwards, we travel towards Sonoma to the Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country hotel in Santa Rosa, our hotel for the next four nights. This afternoon is yours to enjoy additional Sonoma wineries or explore Santa Rosa or Sonoma. (B, L) Saturday, October 10, 2026: Breakfast at hotel. We travel to Muir Woods National Monument, home to ancient coastal redwoods. We next travel to the seaside town of Sausalito, where you’ll have time to shop and enjoy lunch on your own at a local restaurant. On the way back to our hotel we’ll stop at the Golden Gate Bridge. The evening is free to continue discovering the Sonoma area. (B) Sunday, October 11, 2026: Breakfast at hotel. Today we’ll visit a local winery for a guided tour and tasting. The rest of the day is free to explore another local winery. (B) Monday, October 12, 2026: Breakfast at hotel. We’ll visit another Sonoma winery for a tasting. The remainder of the day is free for you to relax or explore more local wineries. A farewell dinner is included. (B, D) Tuesday, October 13, 2026: Breakfast at hotel.
