Lake Placid doesn't just know winter, it loves winter. It excels at winter. When Mother Nature brings on the snow, we don't let it stop us from having fun, we simply put on more layers and embrace the opportunities cold weather brings! Lakes and ponds freeze over, becoming exciting playgrounds perfect for skating parties, pick-up hockey games, and even the rush of riding a dog sled. The more the snow piles up, the more excited we get, hitting downhill slopes and flat, wooded trails on skis and snowshoes. All winter, we throw on our favorite sweaters and hit the bobsled track, soar into the sky on a scenic gondola, and explore the world by horse-drawn sleigh.

Accommodations are at Golden Arrow Hotel, on the waterfront, with the perfect location on Main Street, right in the heart of downtown Lake Placid. The indoor pool, hot tub and other amenities are awesome. Mirror Lake is steps away. Walk out the front door to all the shops, restaurants, galleries and Olympic offerings of Lake Placid. Whiteface Mountain and Mt. Van Hoevenberg are an easy 15 minute bus ride from our hotel.
